We’d like to explain how we ensure that your privacy is respected and protected.

Saffron Steer is an influential and experienced healthcare strategy advisory business for the health care sector.  We work to create the competitive positioning, influence and impact that the NHS, private and voluntary sector healthcare organisations need for growth and sustainability.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

The GDPR is a new European regulation for the protection of personal data that will come into force on 25 May 2018 and will be put into UK law through the Data Protection Bill which was unveiled by the government in August 2017. Before 25 May 2018, the 1998 and 2003 Data Protection Acts apply.

What personal information does Saffron Steer hold?

Where provided, we have the names, work addresses, email addresses and mobile telephone numbers of post holders working for companies and organisations in the health and care sectors. These include post holders working in the NHS, care, local authorities, commissioning, third sector, private health, primary care and mental health. In addition, we hold information relating to post holders in supply and advisory roles within the health and care sectors e.g. lawyers, accountants and management consultants. 

What does Saffron Steer do with this personal information?

The legal basis for us holding your personal information is because it is in our legitimate interest as a business to do so, so that we can operate and improve our business offering. The information that we collect about you is essential for us to be able to carry out the services that we provide to you as a client. 

We use the data we collect in the following ways:

  • We use your contact details as part of our professional engagement with you
  • We rely on having good, up-to-date data to ensure we connect with the right people and can leverage our network to the benefit of our clients 
  • We use the data to invite you to seminars, roundtables and events that we run from time to time 

We do not: 

  • Share your data for marketing purposes with any other organisations 
  • create derived or inferred data about people, by profiling them
  • have any future plans to use your data in any large-scale analysis of these data

With whom we will share your personal information

We may share the contact data we hold on you with individuals or organisations within our network on requests made to us for expertise, knowledge, understanding and/or insights that you may hold on a subject matter which is beyond our scope of expertise.

How we collect information

We collect data in the following ways:

  • From public websites which publish contact information e.g. LinkedIn, your organisations’ website etc.
  • Through our sales process during which we require client’s details to invoice them
  • Through personal communications and referrals from networked colleagues 

Security

All Saffron Steer’s data are held on password-protected CRM and e-mail systems which are only accessible to Michael Barker (Founding Partner). 

Data removal

If you do not wish us to use your data in the way we have explained above, you can request that we remove your details from our database by e-mailing Michael@saffronsteer.com

Using Saffron Steer’s website and your privacy

We use cookies to track visitor use of the website and to view reports (generated by Google Analytics) on the website activity.

There is information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by Saffron Steer. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses.

Our blog page on our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Security of your Personal Information

Saffron Steer secures your personal information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. We secure the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. When personal information is transmitted to other websites, it is protected using encryption.
